After having featured Doshi in issue #22 of the magazine, we were taken by his aesthetic and skills and approach to architecture, but more than anything by his spirit and imagination and approach to life.\r\n\r\nFollowing the release of the issue, we worked with his granddaughter and collaborator, the architect Khushnu Panthaki Hoof, to eventually publish<a href=\"https:\/\/www.apartamentomagazine.com\/stories\/a-world-of-imagination-drawings-by-bv-doshi\/\"> a series of Doshi\u2019s drawings<\/a> on our website. And, finally, the opportunity arose to work on a new project together: capturing the magic of Kamala House, the home he built for his family in 1963, named after his wife. The resulting book was to be the third in our architecture series devoted to some of our favourite architects, the houses they build, and the stories behind them.\r\n\r\nQuentin was keen, and so a month later, in May, he flew out to India to spend some days with Doshi and his family. While he was there, he also captured a snapshot of daily life in Ahmedabad, as well as some of the other architectural jewels the city has to offer.
